Feb 25th 2009,   3 Comments,   interior design tag

The 3D design softwares of today can help you visualize your dream home with stunning accuracy and in a manner you never dreamed possible. Popular architecture and design firms now give clients a full video walkthrough of their proposed designs before hand. In this post we feature a few such video walkthroughs. (If you are reading this through e-mail, you will need to visit the following link to view the videos: http://www.home-designing.com/2009/02/more-3d-home )

The following animation covers lot more than homes but we thought we would squeeze this in as well. It is a good watch.

  1. Chris says:

3D tours and interactive visualizations are a great way to pre-sell projects, and raise captial for new projects. The cost to earnings ration is usually fantastic. Many developers are also realizing the power of this media as an income possibility vs. an expense. If you think about it, launching a 20M-200M project and dropping $20k-$100k for a full blown photo-quality animation is a tiny % to spend for such a powerful result. Also many of our clients use images (stills) from our animation to do press releases, sales materials, and client reviews of the project to fine tune development in progress; experimenting with materials, lighting, etc. This is an art form that can also be used as a powerful marketing tool. The samples above are well done, and I invite you all to check out our award winning work as well at: http://www.pacificommultimedia.com Thanks for paying tribute to those fantastic designers and artists who often get seen as an expense to the bottom line – when in reality they shorten the cash flow carrying costs associated with most projects.

  2. Chris above hinted at this but it probably needs to be said more directly, the high quality of 3D work that you are presenting in this post as beautiful as it is is simply NOT possible for a client on a one off basis as you suggested in the post content.

This quality of work takes a LONG time and HIGH skill set to create the cost involved means that it needs to be amortized across either a large development project or a “project house design” ie one that will be sold many times.

This type of work costs several thousand dollars to produce so its too expensive for 99.9% of individual design projects
