Dusky moody colors and natural materials fill this 66 square metre apartment in Moscow, Russian Federation. Wood effect wall panels hug the interior space, adding a look of warmth and texture. The home was designed and visualised by Cartelle Design, based around the needs of a young couple. There is a glass wall bedroom that features a study area and a glass wall ensuite bathroom. The apartment is blessed with the luxury of a separate dressing room too, with a glass fronted closet design. An open plan lounge-kitchen-dining room provides a sociable living space, great for spending time together at the end of a working day, or in which to entertain.
A modern sofa, upholstered in mauve fabric brings colour to its dusky surroundings. One of the scatter cushions is coloured to coordinate with an adjacent blue accent chair. A light wood look coffee table tones with the laminate flooring in the apartment, and with the wood effect wall panelling throughout.
The wood wall panels gives the modern interior a feeling of warmth, as it hugs around the perimeter of every room. The wood cladding fluctuates between full height panels and half height boards.
The same light wood effect has been used in the creation of some customised items of furniture too - like a bespoke window seat and breakfast bar in the kitchen diner area.
Soft powdery blue fabrics and a deep seafoam green stool tone gently with the mauve sofa in the lounge. The modern coffee table holds a planter to bring in an extra spray of green.
The tv wall decor is actually a custom built storage wall, with a bookcase located at its outer edge. Electrical wires are concealed behind a faux stone panel, above a wooden base.
A single track of directional lights run through the centre of the ceiling space, throwing illumination over both the living room and the kitchen diner. A black vertical radiator takes up a spot between two generously sized windows in dark frames. In the entryway, a row of black closets span one wall.
The entry door has been painted a muted shade of blue to coincide with the accent chair and scatter cushions in the living room.
A recessed storage space, featured at the end of the hallway closets, emits a warm glow in the home entryway.
In addition to the generous run of hallway closets, we find a small dressing room hidden away. This is accessed via a door in the living room, just off the bedroom. A row of black closets flank one wall - which back onto those found in the hallway. A glass covered closet occupies the end of the tiny room, shining with the golden glow of warm white LED lighting from within.
A modern wall sconce looks like an eclipse in motion on the dark wall of the living room, which has the dressing room on its other side.
The tv wall acts as a partial privacy screen between the lounge and a glass wall bedroom.
A dining room pendant light provides illumination over the breakfast bar.
An artist’s easel takes a spot in the natural light by the windows.
The chandelier over the breakfast bar lights one half of the kitchen.
Black kitchen units are situated against a solid painted dark wall, creating a shadowy effect.
The kitchen backsplash os equally dark, but features golden lifts within its geometric pattern. The golden tones complement the light wood breakfast bar attached to the outer row of cabinets. A slatted wood panel adds texture around the kitchen bar stools.
A home office area is included inside the bedroom, seated by the window. A double bed with a traditional style tufted headboard dominates the room. The bed is flanked by two small side tables and two eye-catching bedroom pendant lights.
The window curtain slides all the way along a concealed pole, which gives the impression of a much larger window.
Behind the platform bed, the headboard wall is deep green painted wainscot.
A striped floor rug picks up on the green tones in the room, and the green stool at the entry hall can be glimpsed through the bedroom’s glass wall.
The glazed wall to the other side of the bedroom peeks through to the living room, providing a pleasant interior view from the home office area.
We also discover a glass wall ensuite bathroom in this space, where beautifully patterned floor tiles become part of the bedroom decor too.
Dark grey wall tiles clad the back of the shower, whilst muted green wall tiles lift the scheme elsewhere. A black toilet and flush plate keep the scheme punchy, along with a contemporary side table in a ruddy brown finish.
A second bathroom is located by the home entryway. This bathroom features a separate black bidet, wall mounted beside a black toilet. Raw concrete shower walls run into a swathe of small sea green tiles.
This bathroom also contains a utility area, with a stacked washing machine and tumble dryer tower inside a wood casing unit.
A black and wood vanity unit nestles between the shower enclosure and the utility tower casing. Mirrored bathroom cabinets keep the clutter of toiletries clean out of sight.
Back inside the ensuite, the modern bathroom vanity unit follows the same black and wood aesthetic. This time though, a green vessel basin sits on the bathroom countertop. A huge illuminated vanity mirror hangs above the ensemble.
The section of green wall tiles accentuate the colour of the unique bathroom sink, and attractively frame a heated towel rail.
