Bedrooms from Roche Bobois

In this article we take a look at some high end bedroom sets by French furniture company Roche Bobois. Whilst not many of us have the scale of home to fully replicate the Roche Bobois visions (and some of us would not choose an open sided bedroom by a chilly lake!), we can certainly draw from their well of style.

With a strong penchant for the platform bed, most of the creations are rather modern, but there are designs to suit everything from a contemporary utilitarian space, to a more traditionally ornate chateau ambiance. The collection covers the spectrum with a selection of materials, predominantly woods with some softer upholstered finishes thrown in. The gloss furniture finish reflects more light, ideal for smaller spaces, and for when we own a less fish bowl-like bedchamber than those depicted! The matching bedsides and dressers create a cohesive look, and allow you to add the color and pattern to your space in your own way via wall treatments, accessories and accent furnishings.

Check out this super-mod bedroom by Red Brent , with its glittery shag rug and matching wall panels. We like the metallic details and the two paintings above the bed.

This dark bedroom by Nightreelf is lit up by blue lights and hanging strobe lights, which give it an outer-space quality. The bold graphic prints on the curtains and bedspread give it a heavy, moody appearance.

Red Bedrooms

Red is thought of as the color of passion, of vitality, love, and even, danger. Unarguably, it is the most noticeable and vibrant of colors and is not limited to where it can be incorporated. Whether it be fashion or interior decor, red is a favorite everywhere and here, we can see how it can be incorporated effectively in modern and new ways, into sleeping quarters. And if you tend to agree with red being the color of passion and love, then you will find it quite appropriate for your bedroom.

Design by Zaib. This ultra modern red bedroom, is accessorized with light panels, unique red vases, and hanging vertical lights. The intensity of the red and brown colors are relieved by the cream colored pillows and floors.

Design By Coudamy Design. This Parisian firm which designs everything from sets to architecture to furniture, seeks to redefine design and “give posture to an aesthetic diversity.”
This red and white bed is attached to a matching shelf display. We think this would be especially effective as a space saver or even for a child’s bedroom.

Also by ZigShot82. This bedroom uses a softer shade of red, and incorporates a lighter shade of wood to give off a more tranquil vibe. A beautiful office and closet area are included.

The design is by Italian company Bonaldo, which likes to combine true Italian style with modern, contemporary trends.

Design by Hulsta. We admire the soft wood that permeates most of this red bedroom. The red here, only appears in a few pops, in the carpet and pillows and blanket.

Design By ZigShot82. This red bedroom has a touch of Asian style with graphic prints on the bed and dresser, and simple, clean lines.

Design by San Samuel. This ultra modern red and white bedroom is accented by dark wooden wall panels and matching floor. The red banner with a graphic white design running across the wall, opens up the space even more.

This quirky red and white bedroom, incorporates heart cut out designs throughout. We think it’s perfect for a young girl’s bedroom.

By Estroncios. This red room is sumptuous and luxurious and dark, with its complementing persian carpet and decadent red walls.

We loved the shiny, dark red dressers and the brown details of this mature bedroom.

Modern bedroom designs

The Zhengzhou Interior Design Training schools teaching philosophy uses the idea of training equals work. The way the school is run seems to be closely hinged on the focus of giving the trainees an understanding of what the workplace will be like and what will be expected of them. The school has a strict policy of ensuring that each student is able to receive the help they require in the classroom, hence only allowing 8-10 people per class.

The students work clearly shows thoroughness in their design process through their attention to detail. They all use common themes of modern simplicity. The end result is a solid grasp in the understanding of European styles in furnishings and dcor. The computer rendering skills are exemplary indicating that the students will be able to be effective in the workforce.

Modern Classic and Rustic Bedrooms

In riding the coattails of our rustic dining rooms article, we wanted to shine some light on these beautiful bedrooms inspired by the same classic styles of Roche Bobois. Only this time the subtle and sophisticated take on modern classic decor is distinguished and gives us a glimpse of hope in making this beautiful era relative to our contemporary and multi-cultural lives.

Now, some of their furniture only appears ancient because of the antique aging process and hand-waxed lacquer finish but the detail in craftsmanship is undeniable so we won’t hold that against them. Using metallic fabrics and bold color in unexpected places while remaining true to the idiosyncratic fashion of the old world is simply a great combination for any period room. Wouldn’t it be grand to wake up in one of these royal-sized beds with the sun shining into your massive french windows as you examine the finishing touches of such flawlessly elaborate architecture and ponder the meaning of life? We’d like to think so…

Bedroom Walls that Pack a Punch

Bedrooms are a fun place to be, especially if you like sleep and let’s just be honest… the horizontal mambo! Color plays an important role in mood so knowing what your purpose in the bedroom is before deciding on color is highly suggested. If your primary function is to sleep, then warm calming colors are a must. If you do a lot of TV watching and reading (or pillow fighting), then vibrant colors would be your best bet. However, natural and artificial lighting are pretty important as well in the event that you eat (not encouraged) or read in bed or work at your corner office desk.

For those are looking for inspiration on how to decorate their bedroom walls this post should hopefully give some good ideas. The rooms below are not only highly desirable because of their massive space and architectural interior design, but also for the amazing accent walls which are instantly noticeable when looking at these rooms- a formula for great design! You will see that most of these cool focal points sit on the walls that the beds are centered on, and there may just be a reason for that…. Let us know your thoughts!
