the retractable staircase IS a genius idea, especially today, in places where space is a luxury. necessary precautions would obviously have to be there… such as a railing across where the stairs used to go down? kiddie gate….

Do not know how genius a retractable staircase is.

Put a kid running around the house when the stairs are retracted and you get a dead or paralyzed from neck down kid.

People use the word genius to often these days….

I understand combining the practical with “the fun” but on half the stairs presented here you can easy get a arm or a leg broken if you’re not careful….

The piano steps are so cool! I would definitely choose the piano steps as compared to the boring escalator!
