Matthew, check out "Strong arm" for the gas lifts. There sold at any advance auto and are reasonably priced...like $20 dollars American. There's also an array of sizes and PSI's to choose from. The problem ive encountered is finding out the PSI for each model. They're organized by the vehicle they fit rather than the size and force. Good luck brotha

Excellent! Im installing a trap-door as a main entrance to my 3rd story apartment. I can't tell from the pictures but, are the hinges hidden? Im a little concerned about my toes becoming stubbed up every time it's dark and im drinking lol. Ive considered putting LED lighting around the hinges but, thats just non-functional. Also, the "gas charged lift support" being used. What is the PSI? My door is 37'X6.6' and weighs around 100-120lbs. I'm looking to have a 1 to 12ish ratio on mine. Any advice would be greatly considered and appreciated. Can't wait to finish it and post some pics. All the pics look amazing!! Cheers!

I am interested in making an interior trap door for my basement steps to allow a more open look in my first floor. I will have a hard wood finish on the floor. I am interested in where I can purchase trap door kits for hardware (hinges, gas struts). I really haven't found much on the internet until I came across the pictures on this site. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Matthew Matus
