Only, I wouldn’t favor the ‘toilet-aquarium’ concept, because for one, it would be difficult to view the same, unless you sit the other way round! .
And most importantly, it may be dangerous for the fish; it has been proved that after each flush, potentially dangerous germs are released into the air which may settle in the tank and harm the fish.

Same goes for the wash basin-aquariums. The slightest soap residue getting into your fish tank will kill your fish within hours. And if you keep the top sealed, there won’t be any aeration for the fish tank.

Similarly, the coffee-table-aquarium looks very visually appealing, but any spillage of beverages/ food into the tank may be lethal for the fish. And the coffee table will be so heavy because of the water, it would be impossible to move the table around.

But having said that, I would definitely vouch for EVERYONE keeping an aquarium (I have 3!) It makes the room come alive, and sitting back and gazing at an aquarium after a hard day’s work is most soothing to the mind and soul!

Also a few tips for an architect from an aquarist’s point of view:
Do not place the aquarium where it is exposed to direct sunlight, it will encourage the growth of algae.
Also avoid places where the lights are likely to remain switched on 24 hours a day; fish too need to get their sleep at night.
If the aquarium is a small one, keep it at eye level (when seated) for best viewing pleasure.
